Congratulations, you have been granted full membership on KATE'S TEAM!!! as a member of this large and growing group you are entitled to the love and admiration of all around you, and to participation in all healing and success stories.

So we're online now, creating a support team for Kate. We want to put together a list of E-mail addresses of all the members of KATE'S TEAM. If you know of someone we have not included please mail their address to us. Colleen, can you send us Kate's roommates addresses and other friends?? We will update daily. Kim, can you forward this to Maureen and Lee and send us their address to add to our list. And Liza and Mark, can you get this to Carol in Philadelphia? And of course, Ruth and Jim are off line in New Smyrna. Someone can call them with updates. Maybe we can set up a rotation, or maybe one person. Let's get them and all of New Smyrna into the Loop.

Today is Martin Luther King day and it is not a Holiday for Memorial, which is good. It means we can talk to Doctors and it is a working day for the Lab. Steve and Chan are up at the hospital with Kate. Dr. Brady was supposed to be in today at about 10 am to see Kate and Steve and Chantal wanted to be there to hear the report. Kate had surgery on Friday and she is recovering from that. The scheduled surgery was to remove some additional tissue at the site of the previous surgery on Kate's leg. In addition the doctor was going to remove a lymph node from the area above Kate's thigh. The lymph node surgery was done first and a fast biopsy was performed. There were some cancer cells found at that site, bad news, so the surgery on the leg was not pursued, more lymph nodes from that site were removed to do a full work up on those nodes. The full lab report should be in this Friday. At this point, Dr. Brady who specializes in melanoma is going to introduce a new Oncologist to take things from here. There is a good chance Katie will be released from the hospital tommorow or Wednesday.

This afternoon Jimmy and Mary Kay and John are coming in from L.I. to visit. When the nurses push us out we'll probably catch a bite near our apartment. If you want to call today the crowd should be at the hospital around 4 to 6. Kate's # at the hospital is 639-xxxx. She is in room 1507.
